Finally Decided to quit being lazy

Well I am sure that is not entirely true since there will still be a million tasks I should be doing but never get around to.

Though the point of this is I am getting ready for my trip to Italy on saturday, and I started thinking about the blog again. Since I took this new position I have not been doing really any travel and things here have been neglected.

The fact I also started really trying to use twitter...(http://twitter.com/CobraRob) I think I want to keep the blog up to date.

Not sure there is going to much before I leave but next week there will definatly be some pictures from Florence and Rome. Since this is a personal trip it should actually be fun..

Yeah free tickets and hotel points.

Nagoya Castle

I finally took the time to go over to the Nagoya Castle and take some pictures. It was not a great day to take pictures since it was lightly raining and extreamly overcast. I guess the good part about that was the weather was not sweltering hot and there was less people.

I only posted up a few of the pictures here right now but the rest are all uploaded in the galaries that are linked on the right hand side or here:

Night Time shots around Nagoya Station

Some night time shots around the station

Out the Hotel room window.

I really like this shot even though its a little noisy. Maybe I should try and clean it up with some filters.

Spiral

This spiral is the major intersection center right outside of the Nagoya train station. I think it also serves as an exhaust vent for the subway system that runs below it. I just thought it was a cool looking structure so I took a few pics of it.

From Above I believe on the 15th floor near Marriott Lobby.

Day 1 Nagoya, Japan

So I decided I am going to try and take alot more pics then I normally do when I travel. I am usually lucky if I take a handful. Right before I left I used my extended warrenty at BB to exchange my Canon SD500 for the SD850IS.. So far I really like this camera. Seems to be noticably improved over the 500..

Well after arriving at the Airport and going through immigration and customs and all the usual fun in the airport I had to figure out which train to take to the hotel....

I tried to figure out the crazy board to use the automated ticket machines but it seemed the little bit of english on them did not give me the detail I needed to get the job done so I went to the full service counter to get a ticket for the Rapid Limited Express to Nagoya station..

They gave me this ticket....

Well after studying the ticket for a few minutes and looking at the train departure boards.............

I think I am going to need a little help to figure this out.... OHH wait it changed...

Bahh still screwed.. Ask the hot little girl at the front of the station and she directs me over to LINE 1 and the ticket apparently says I am on Car 2 Seat 3D so I am gtg now just have to wait for the train to arrive. So I took some pictures of the station...

So I am sure some of you have seen on discovery/TLC/History channels the man made island airports in japan... I landed at the one in Nagoya that just opened in 2005.

ANYWAY... taking the train off the island..

On the train some housing areas

Then I finally got to my station which is the main Nagoya station where my hotel is above.

From my room on the 30th floor I have a decient view of the city.. So far it looks dirty and industrial like I would expect.

Also have a view of the train station below.

Room is not too bad.. and of course I have the TOTO..I will take some more pics of the room when I get a chance.
